History

The North Shore Junior Orchestra has been under many aliases in its history. Earlier on its name was the North Shore Junior Strings, and it has also been known as Shore Musicana. Various conductors have taken the group throughout the years with Louise Roe one of the longest standing conductors of 14 years.

Throughout its history the North Shore Junior Orchestra has been at the forefront of youth music on the North Shore. Many of its previous members have gone on to become highly profiled musicians in our society today.

Because of its long running history the orchestra has established a firm place in the North Shore community. It will continue to be an important part of the community by providing young talented children with the opportunity to rehearse and perform great music!
